What this article helps you do
Create, validate, version, backtest, and export a strategy definition.
Before you start
- Strategy Builder entitlement.
Follow these steps
- 1
Open Strategy Builder.
- 2
Choose a validated library definition or create a new strategy.
- 3
Define entry, confirmations, direction, session, risk, exits, cooldowns, and daily limits.
- 4
Validate contradictory or unsupported rules.
- 5
Run a backtest against a supported normalized dataset.
- 6
Save a new version with notes.
- 7
Export NinjaScript only when all components are supported; otherwise use the generic definition or report exports.
What you should see
The saved version has a deterministic definition, validation state, and compatible export options.
Common mistakes
- Assuming generic rules can always become NinjaScript.
- Claiming Tradovate or TopstepX native deployment.
- Using generated variants as though they were manually curated.
